Minister Ramdial Celebrates Her First Mother’s Day
Couva North Member of Parliament, Ramona Ramdial took a day off from maternity leave to celebrate Mother’s Day with her constituents on Monday.
Ramdial treated 150 mothers from her constituency to an evening of entertainment and provided tokens of appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
In her feature address the MP spoke of the joy of celebrating her first Mother’s Day with newly born son, Rudra Vedan Barrath and the blessing of becoming a mother.
Ramdial highlighted the strength of women in today’s society; being a parent, working and managing a household. She commended the role of mothers and urged especially single mothers to “spend more time with your children and encourage them in positive activities such as sports, religion and education”.
She stated that there was an increasing absence of proper role models in society for the youths and so urged mothers to be their champions.
