Let’s Work Together

In the spirit of unity and togetherness, Khadijah Ameen the UNC select candidate to contest the Chaguanas West by-election, has invited former MP Jack Warner, and the other unsuccessful candidates to work with her.

The Prime Minister in her walkabout in Felicity with Ameen also stated “Mr Warner remains a member of the UNC”, and as such he should support his party. Supporters of Mr Warner will contend that he did a lot for Chaguanas West and the nation at large. However, in moving the country forward, as the Prime Minister stated, there is a lot at stake in terms of how the electorate votes.

Ameen stated ““Before I was named as the candidate, I indicated that if Mr Warner was named the candidate, I will work with him and trust that now that I am named the candidate, he will work with me…. I trust and hope that he could join me at some point in support, of course, but even if he does not, no bad feelings”.

It is commendable that Ameen is willing to work together for the betterment of Chaguanas West and the country at large. I wish to remind Mr Warner that he himself stated that the PP Government is the only hope for this nation. If Mr Warner is a man of his word, then I believe he will do the honourable thing and work alongside the UNC candidate to keep the Chaguanas West seat in Government.
