Judiciary Rejects Conspiracy Allegations
I feel vindicated with the results of the investigation conducted by the Judiciary into this matter. I am happy that they have cleared my name of any wrong doing and debunked the dangerous and irresponsible conspiracy theory advanced by the PNM, which implied that I had somehow conspired to pervert the course of justice.
I have been the subject of intense, malicious and sinister political attacks by the PNM, but fear none of them. In the same way Dr Rowley had to apologize for boldly accusing wrongly me of visiting the New York Mission and making racist statements to the staff and for declaring that I had lost the OPV arbitration, he will likewise be forced to eat his words on the other accusations in Emailgate’, Prisongate’ and Section 34. The PNM is out for me since I sued to recover over $2 billion dollars from friends of the PNM such as Calder Hart, Ken Julien, Krishna Bahadorsingh and Malcolm Jones.
I seek no favours from anyone and I anxiously await my day in court. Dr Rowley is seeking to have trial by media instead of trial by the court of justice. His statements at today’s press conference are provocative and completely baseless and highlight his political desperation as everything he has tried over the last four and a half years to get at me, has failed. I have no doubt that in the fullness of time, the truth will emerge and the clouds of suspicion they have deliberately created will disappear.
I welcome any investigation by anyone, anytime and anywhere as I have nothing to hide. I categorically deny and reject the allegations of a supposed conspiracy to pervert the course of justice as I am extremely confident about my chances in court. I stand by my witness statement and I am also prepared to defend it under oath.
