Griffith: Criminals will feel the full brunt of the law
Minister of National Security Gary Griffith has assured law abiding citizens that the Ministry and all of its Divisions and Services would not stand by and allow a small percent of criminals to hold the country under siege.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) and all law enforcement officials will execute the full brunt of the law in accordance with the Laws of Trinidad & Tobago towards any individual or groups bent on destabilizing the community and society.
The Ministry of National Security will be employing harsh measures and a zero tolerance to all individuals, gangs and groups who seek to engage Law Enforcement in exchange of gunfire and intimidatory tactics.
The Minister also announced that a partnership with Protection Group International (PGI), a leading British company at the forefront of security, intelligence and cyber development and implementation, will help the Ministry reduce the homicide rate and bring those responsible swiftly to justice.
The Ministry of National Security said it was setting out on a new vision and commitment to delivering improved safety and security for all communities across the country.
The programme which will be directed by the National Security Council, will represent a five-year road map that will deliver better joint operational working across the policing and security sectors, more effective and technologically enabled intelligence and information gathering and establish professional standards of operational practice.
