Ernesto Kesar

Ernesto Kesar
Constituency : Point Fortin
Ernesto Kesar is a veteran labour leader and the UNC’s candidate for Point Fortin, bringing decades of experience in the energy sector and trade union movement.
He currently serves as an Executive Vice-President of the Oilfield Workers’ Trade Union (OWTU), one of the most influential labour organizations in Trinidad and Tobago. Kesar previously led the OWTU’s Trinmar branch in south Trinidad, where he played a pivotal role in defending the rights and livelihoods of oilfield workers.
Throughout his career, Kesar has been a tireless advocate for the working class—standing up for retrenched energy-sector employees, challenging unjust practices, and holding public officials accountable on labour and economic issues.
In 2020, he contested the Point Fortin seat under the Movement for Social Justice (MSJ) banner. Building on that experience, he has since joined forces with the UNC as part of a broader “coalition of interests” focused on delivering real change and challenging the status quo.
With deep roots in the energy industry and a strong connection to grassroots struggles, Kesar brings a straight-talking, no-nonsense approach to politics. He is widely respected in Point Fortin for his integrity and his commitment to job creation, fair wages, and community advancement.
Now seeking to represent his hometown in Parliament, Kesar is determined to be a powerful voice for the people of Point Fortin and a champion for a more equitable future.
