Davendranath Tancoo is the outgoing Member of Parliament for Oropouche West, Chairman of the UNC, and former General Secretary.

He is former Chief Economist in the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, under Basdeo Panday and the Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
He also served as Adviser to the Prime Minister from 2010-5.

Previously, Mr. Tancoo worked at the Ministry of Education and the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs.

He is also an Attorney at Law
