Criminal activity spikes in Munroe Road
The Chaguanas West Constituency Executive is quite alarmed at the spiking rate of criminal activity in the Munroe Road area. Just this week, in the vicinity of the Munroe Road flyover, two men were arrested with guns and ammunition. Interestingly the two suspects are ex members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force.
In another incident, Kashif Greaves was shot in the vicinity of Abraham’s Grill Hut in Munroe Road. And last night, also in the Munroe Road area, Jenny Ragbir was chopped to death in a home invasion; her husband is in critical condition in hospital.
We are calling on the Minister of National Security, his two other Ministers in the Ministry of National Security and all other relevant authorities to set up a joint Army and Police patrol in the Central area. We join with Member of Parliament for Couva North, Mrs Ramona Ramdial, in asking for these patrols to begin working to curb this spiralling crime situation.
How many more innocent citizens must be murdered before some effective measures are put in place to curb this crime scourge that is currently affecting our Nation? Central Trinidad is being held to ransom by the criminals. The constituents of Chaguanas West no longer feel safe and we demand immediate action.
