‘Careful how you vote’
PICKING up where he left off on Friday night, a fiery Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal on Saturday night at a UNC local government elections campaign meeting, again cautioned the public on voting blindly for candidates selected by the Independent Liberal Party (ILP), whom he claimed were mixed up in unsavory dealings.
Addressing a lively crowd of cheering supporters at the Rio Claro market, the UNC deputy political leader said the “purpose’ of his address was to, “warn you and the national community of the danger associated when you infiltrate the political system and civil institutions with persons of questionable character.”
“That is the issue facing us today and if you do not want to see this country collapse overnight don’t make the mistake and vote for these green people,” Moonilal said. He claimed an ILP candidate had left her place of employment at a financial institution under questionable circumstances and called on ILP interim political leader Jack Warner, to inform the national community abut the reasons why this particular candidate had left her job.
“Could you take somebody to represent you who had to leave their job under very difficult circumstances. If those circumstance are the same they cannot represent you,” Moonilal said.
“There is another candidate in that party, who I am prepared to name when the time is right, who has serious allegations surrounding him involving molesting children,” Moonilal said to loud ‘oohs and aahs’ from the crowd, prompting him to respond, “those are serious matters, those are not matters to joke at.”
He said there was another candidate who is well-known by law enforcement agents. He said another candidate was also guilty of stealing from a casino while another candidate had been fired from a Central Trinidad car wash for stealing from vehicles sent to be washed.
“I am collecting some information now and if I get my information, look out for me on Monday night! I intend to ask Mr Warner whether he is supporting child molesters as candidates in the upcoming local government elections. But I will say more on Monday, not tonight,” Moonilal said…READ MORE
