CAMILLE MUST APOLOGISE
Once again, Kamla Persad-Bissessar was right, and MP Camille owes an apology for placing incorrect information in the public domain regarding the nomination of Vincel Edwards to the Police Service Commission.
This matter has only now appeared on the House of Representatives Order Paper for the Third Sitting of the Second Session of the Twelfth Parliament, 4 October 2021. This matter never appeared on the Order Paper during the current Twelfth Parliament following upon the August 2020 General Elections. Since those elections, there have been about 36 Order Papers and 36 sittings of the House of Representatives and this notification was never on those Order Papers and never listed for debate. It is only when the Opposition Leader raised this matter that MP Camille scrambled to tell the Clerk of the House to now place this outdated/dead notification on the HOR Order Paper – and that, after about 15 months of failure and/or neglect!
Why has the Government, and MP Camille as Leader of Government Business, failed and/or neglected and/or omitted to fully constitute the PSC with the requisite 5 members, and instead allow the Commission to operate one man down for these 15 months, and are now scrambling?
This is extremely serious.
Furthermore, MP Camille, as Leader of Government Business, presented her misinformation in the most vulgar and vicious way. As the Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar said, “So whilst you want to berate me for all kinds of things as you always do. You know, you all cannot operate on issues. You have to go personal and become very nasty. Go ahead. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. But if you examine, firstly, you must explain, Camille WPC, why 15 months you have never placed this on the Order Paper in this new Parliament. Why?
“And secondly, you must explain why it is still alive, when it was sent to a parliament that was dissolved for elections, and was dead from then, and a new parliament — the 12th Parliament — came into effect. So on that issue, I say you are totally wrong, WPC Camille, and I say nothing about her Excellency except to say, Camille is misleading you, Madam! Be careful of the advice that you take. As I said before, WPC Camille, what is still on the record — I think it’s a live investigation — has to do with about 143 thousand dollars deposited in a bank, and the questions as to where those monies came from. I think that is still a live investigation that you may want to pay close attention to.”
Indeed, MP Camille is still under police investigation for her false claim that she withdrew from First Citizens’ Bank $143,800. In addition, there is still an investigation as to why Credit Card Camille used the government credit card when she was a Minister to buy wigs and pay for fertility treatments.
Clearly, the Leader of Government Business has a serious conflict of interest in the matter of appointing a Commissioner of Police. There is a real possibility of Robinson-Regis being charged with misbehaviour in public office.
This is also the case for the Attorney-General, whose children’s allegedly illegal use of high-powered weapons is also still under investigation. And in all of this, the Prime Minister is silent, except for texting expletives to his former supporters/friends who are complaining about how hard life has become for them — and for all our fellow citizens — under the Rowley PNM Government. The Prime Minister appears to have “pip” on this serious Constitutional crisis which threatens our Republic.
His Gangster, Mafioso Government is falling apart.
Once again, Kamla Persad-Bissessar is vindicated. Credit Card Camille must account to the country and apologise for wrongly accusing Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
The Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar surely will be also vindicated in all the matters and accusations thrown against her. She is speaking Truth to Power, in defense of the people of Trinidad and Tobago, and the country must be thankful to her.
