AG has a valid point
THe Editor:
As Mr. Lennox Grant stated in one of his columns, the media became important just when, as a sector of identifiable activity, it began to look like a dangerous place to find oneself. As the media claimed character as “social”, suddenly, the familiar witness-and-record function appears incidental to what it’s all about.
He also pointed out, that Mr. Ramlogan was once a columnist prior to being Attorney General. With that being said, while we understand the points being raised by him, it’s equally understandable that the Attorney General was alluding to the point that journalism must be responsible and factual since he from past experience understands how it works.
The apparent reason for this, as we can all see, is that once you hit the media in any form of negative light, your career is almost more than likely to fall. If this is the case, we would all hope that the material is factual since it has irreparable damage to one’s career.
