AG extends Eid greetings
As another Eid-ul-Fitr dawns, the Attorney General wishes to join the national community in special paying tribute to our Muslim brothers and sisters who have demonstrated true faith and dedication in their daily fasting during the just-completed holy month of Ramadan. Their sacrifice and prayer combine to teach us how to appreciate our blessings in life and brings us closer to God, for, as prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “It is not a sixth or a tenth of a person’s devotion which is acceptable to God, but only such portions thereof as are offered with understanding and true devotional spirit” which highlight the value of spiritual insight and the purest devotion.
Ramadan is a very sacred and holy time that ought to be respected across the length and breadth of this nation and transcend the barriers of cultural and religious differences. Eid ul Fitr is therefore a time to be grateful and cherish the bounty that was generously given to us by The Almighty. By tradition, Muslims mark it by limitless generosity and compassion to the underprivileged in society.
During Ramadan, barriers are broken down and the people join together in prayer and service to God. As a country and a community, ought to take this as an excellent example to follow. The values practised by Muslims at this time are what make societies great and enhance our national flavour and beauty.
On behalf of the Ministry of The Attorney General, I join hands with all members of the Muslim community and bid them Eid Mubarak. At the same time, I pray that the blessings and happiness earned by their successful conclusion of the fast will be with them always.
May Almighty Allah’s teachings and love continue to enrich their life and that of the all people of this country, so that we can pass on this rich culture and tradition to the future generations.
“If thou bring them not a revelation, they say: “Why hast thou not got it together?” Say: “I but follow what is revealed to me from my Lord: this is (nothing but) lights from your Lord, and Guidance, and mercy, for any who have faith.””
