I dealt with the gruesome twosome of Rowley and Warner and put them back in their box in a speech in Debe, I was serenaded as I officially opened the Febeau Primary School in San Juan and opened the St Columba Anglican Early Childhood Care Centre, Barataria on the same day.
I filed my nomination papers in Rienzi and then spoke on Friday at the most uplifting event in St Helena.
I was delighted to welcome Anna Deonarine back to the UNC family. Anna has been brave to take on Warner’s fabrications, knowing that he will attack her with the same innuendo and lies to which he has subjected me.
We are strong women and will not shrink in the face of his lies and smears.
Jack, the women of Trinidad and Tobago are stronger than ever. We will fight and beat you.
For me, this week encapsulated the forthcoming election campaign.
I dismissed the poison coming from the gruesome twosome of Rowley and Warner and said I would not play out their script.
Instead, I moved on to our script which is a joyful story. The story of how we have reinvigorated Trinidad and Tobago in government.
We have built more than 100 schools like those I opened this week. We have built or refurbished more than 100 health centres, too.
This is the real story of how we have delivered in government and improved the lives of our citizens and their families – helping their children go to good schools, providing them with laptops, helping people to care for elderly relatives, providing homes and clean water supplies for our citizens.
And there is still so much more to do as we build a new Trinidad and Tobago.
In a second term I have a clear plan to build more schools, hospital, homes and roads, to keep our economy on track and people employed. We have made progress on crime, too, by building more police stations and securing our borders with new patrol boats, but I know the scary situation we all still face and that’s why I will adopt a zero tolerance approach toward crime.
In this forthcoming election, there are only two choices for Prime Minister.
If Rowley is elected, he will divide people and take our country backwards.
He has no plan, no vision, no idea.
If I’m re-elected, I promise I will continue to deliver strong and stable government.
I will stick to my plan delivering progress and secure yours and your family’s future.
A Plan That Works For All Of T&T
