A Move In The Right Direction
Dear Editor,
I wish to commend the Attorney General for his proactive role and commitment to youth in Trinidad and Tobago. The Attorney General took time from his busy schedule to personally distribute school bags to underprivileged children of East Port of Spain. This was an initiative of the UNC Youths on a Mission “Learn to Live” programme coordinated by the Attorney General.
This venture was one of the outcomes following a meeting between the Prime Minister, the Attorney General, other Government officials and the residents of Duncan and Nelson Streets. I believe that this bottom-up approach to representation and governance is a move in the right direction.
Politics aside, projects as this show the Government’s commitment to people centred development. I would hope that such initiatives would continue, as they touch the lives of the underprivileged in society in a tangible way.
