Why now?
Dear Editor:
A lot of things do not add up in an article recently published entitled “AG Ducks”. One thing I must say is that it’s always good to hear the comments of a level headed senior person in society. One such comment came from former ambassador Mr. Reginald Dumas. Mr Dumas commented on the allegation that the AG asked Police Compliant Chairman David West to withdraw his witness statement during a telephone conversation which allegedly took place on October 31st, 2014.
The fact is that Mr West filed a witness statement in this case almost 2 months later. Isn’t the appointment of the PCA director done by the President of the country on the advice of the prime minister and the opposition leader?
Why now? Is it because it’s the silly season, with general elections in the air? We would rather hear facts with evidence or matters that will deal with national issues such as crime, health and housing.
