Warner’s Twisted Logic
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar urged UNC supporters not to be “fooled” by the “twisted logic” being used by Jack Warner. This came after Mr Warner launched his Independent Liberal Party to contest the Chaguanas West by-election against the UNC select Khadijah Ameen.
Mr Warner having not being selected as the UNC candidate to re-contest the by-election, refused to be a team player, and went on to challenge the Prime Minister’s decision. His decision to run as an independent party is tantamount to “sour grapes”. His subsequent request to be part of the PP Government is ludicrous, since his actions has shown that he does not function well as part of a team.
Throughout Mr Warner’s campaign there is a continuous and resounding use of “I”, as he tries to convince the constituents that he did good work for them on his own. Chaguanas West should remember that the power to do work in their constituency was only possible because Mr Warner was in Government. His decision to run against the UNC candidate has sealed his fate in Opposition.
Additionally, how can someone who challenges and criticizes the Government want to come afterwards to be part of it? This kind of logic only make sense to the foolish.
Constituents of Chaguanas West have a serious task ahead, in terms of how they vote on July 29. Nevertheless, the country is hopeful that they will see beyond the deceitfulness of Mr Warner, think for themselves, and keep Chaguanas West in Government.

Mr Warner is seeking to validate himself as the ONLY representative for Chaguanas West, that is what this is all about. I listened to his campaign speech and yes it was all about “I”. There was nothing about government, fellow ministers, the people, or the PM it was all about Mr. Warner taking his money and giving to those in need. He does not need to be in government to do such good deeds. You can give your money without being an MP.
