UNC Youth on Environmental Mission
As we celebrate World Earth Month in the build up to ‘World Environment Day’ 2014, the UNC Youth Arm as it has done over the past 3 years under Chairman Nicholas Morris remains steadfast in its commitment to the preservation of the environment through youth action. In collaboration with AG Anand Ramlogan and Minister of Food Production Devant Maharaj under the patronage of Prime minister Kamla Persad Bissessar- the UNC Youth Arm – Youth on a Mission embarked on a number of Environmental Projects in 2013, aimed at ensuring sustainable environmental practices by getting youth involved in a number of practical initiatives such as:
-Rice Planting on Corpus Christi
– Fruit Tree Planting at a number of Recreation Grounds in Chaguanas West & Caroni East
– Beach Clean Ups in Mayaro & Balandra – Hands in the Sands
– Maritime Information Session with UWI Lecturer Dr. J. Darsan
– Donation of 50 + Large Sized Bins to schools in Central Trinidad to promote an our anti-littering campaign
These are a mere reflection of the efforts put foward by the UNC Youth Arm, and as we approach World Environment Day 2014 – we invite you to join us as we work together to ensure that the environment we enjoyed as children and as youth is preserved so that our children can enjoy it too.
