UNC Youth Arm to Finance Minister, Prove it WAS NOT YOU!
The Youth Arm of the United National Congress is calling on the Honorable Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert MP, to produce the evidence that his facebook account was indeed ‘hacked’ on Saturday 10th October 2015. In what has now become a public matte for concern, the ‘Honorable’ Minister has brought the position of ‘Member of Parliament’ into disrepute by allegedly posting such discriminatory comments from his personal facebook account.
The United National Congress Youth Arm, is therefore asking Minister Imbert to produce the security email alert from facebook, whereby which he would have been notified by facebook that his account had been accessed by an unauthorized party, which is provided for in the facebook terms and agreements. Additionally in cases where ‘unusual’ computers access the facebook account of an individual, they are immediately notified via email of such activity. Either of said emails would be sufficient to prove that the Honorable Member is not lying to the public whether partially or entirely.
Furthermore, the United National Congress Youth Arm, wishes to chastise Mr. Imbert, as in no time after recognizing the alleged ‘loss of control’ or ‘hacking’ of his facebook account did he openly condemn such an action or the comments directed to MP Barry Shiva Padarath. We, wish to also place on record our sorrow for the comments made by the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, as to the ‘princess’, which we found to be both distasteful and disrespectful – a poor example especially for a young minister in that portfolio. We sound a reminder to those who now hold the offices of Member of Parliament in both houses, that respect is earned and not demanded. Honorable Ministers you may have been elected by the people but you must now earn our respect or face the harsh reality of a non-responsive or non-cooperative population for the next five years.
The UNC Youth Arm having observed the proceedings of the last week, wish to state that it is not as some Government Ministers put it ‘we in charge now’ – the people of Trinidad and Tobago have always been, are in, and will continue to be charge and as such it is these voices that will be heard loudest!
