UNC congratulates Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Volleyball Team on their World Championship qualification
The United National Congress (UNC) congratulates the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Volleyball team on their stunning achievement in qualifying for the FIVB Women’s World Championships. The Calypso Spikers have once again put this country on the map by becoming the first English speaking Caribbean nation to ever qualify for the World Championships.
In a statement today, Political Leader of the UNC, Mrs Kamla Persad- Bissessar said, “I am immensely proud of what these young ladies have accomplished through their hard work, dedication and perseverance. They have shown the true might of the Trini Woman, who is capable of achieving any and everything they set their minds to.”
Mrs Persad Bissessar extended her personal congratulations to the team noting that they have already done the country proud by representing us with grit and determination through the qualifying process.
“I expect even more great things from this team and they are an inspiration for all the young girls in Trinidad and Tobago looking on, my prayers and well wishes are with them as the embark on their preparation for Japan 2018.”
“As we look on at the greatness that our people can accomplish, it has strengthened my belief and indeed the philosophy of the Party that I lead, that the only way for Trinidad and Tobago to grow and prosper is for us to invest in our people, our greatest asset.”
