Unbecoming behaviour
Last Wednesday night, the Attorney General and his wife were involved in a vehicular accident. Fortunately for them, they escaped relatively unscathed. One of his security detail suffered some injuries, but in whole the incident wasn’t disastrous.
However, what ensued in the following days speaks to a dark, deep abyss of where our society has descended. As the story broke in the print media and social media, the messages of hate spewed forth with abandon. Nobody is advocating you have to like the man, but he is a senior Cabinet member and his office demands the respect accorded to it.
Reading some of the comments posted would make you cringe. Is this how we show respect to our leaders? What example are we teaching our children?
I look at how we treat our leaders, and it is very unbecoming of a nation of citizens who are supposed to care for one another.
