Thanks, PM, for your love, care
THE EDITOR: Open letter to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
Eileen Freeman once wrote, “It isn’t the size of the gift that matters, but the size of the heart that gives it.” I openly say thank you for your tokens of love this Christmas, from the billboards that made me smile, as I showed my kids and incoming visitors my Prime Minister, to the toys my kids received at your fun day, and the media function that was just amazing, as it showcased diversity in food, drink, entertainment and company.
I got a beautiful hamper and calendar that evening that was filled with goodies of a non-monetary quality, and was equally enjoyed when opened with my family on Christmas Day.
Thank you also for your elegance as a woman, a wife, mother and Prime Minister. You have laid the foundation for dreams for many young women like myself, and have given mothers another conversation piece to hold with their daughters. You have warmed the hearts of a nation, and will forever be an icon of fruitfulness and progress for all generations.
Amidst all the clutter, on behalf of my family and friends I say thank you for your love and care this season. As Alfred Painter says, “Saying thank you is more than good manners. It is good spirituality.” It made a difference. You make a difference. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
