Rowley is not a viable option
By now there is the general consensus that the emails that Dr. Keith Rowley presented in the Parliament are fake and the resulting emailgate is a gigantic waste of time and resources.
However. there is the outcry that the Leader of the Opposition should have know better and that it was highly irresponsible of him to present such tripe in the hallowed chambers of parliament. I am of the firm belief that he did know better, and he is highly diabolical individual that would stoop at nothing to get his way.
In psychology there is a phenomenon know as framing, in which issues, once released to the public, can go on to shape public opinion, although what is released may be totally false.
One just has to look at the issue of the Attorney General’s non-existent visit to the New York Consulate to realised how the Leader of Opposition uses this tactic. He made baseless allegations, claims of racism amongst other things, and he allowed this allegation to gain traction for almost a year. He apologised in parliament for his apparent gaffe one year later, but by then he had achieved his objective.
Again with the “Calcutta Ship” remark in the THA 2013 election, this had to deliberate, as Mr. Sandy is still part of the THA.
Then we arrived at the emailgate situation, in which he didn’t care to take the little effort it would have taken to verify if there was some element of truth to what he was about to read in parliament. But I ask, did he really want to verify if it was true, or did he calculate the damage that could be done by releasing those false emails under the cloak of parliamentary protection?
He didn’t care, using a full theatrical presentation, obscene language and all, to make his point, knowing fully well once the wheel is set in motion it can’t be undone.
I shudder to think how diabolical this man is, and I cannot consider him an viable option ever.
