Political victimisation in Savary Road, Las Lomas?
The people of Savary Road Ext , Las Lomas ( La Horquetta/ Talparo constituency ) are running out of patience awaiting the resumption of infrastructure development work that was started under the People’s Partnership Gov’t.
When I became Councillor for that area in 2013, it was one of the first projects I got approved for total development under the PURE Programme. Works started in mid 2014 and continued until Sept 2015. With the change of central government came stoppage to the works in the area. Most of the box drains had been completed in Savary Road Ext, and it was just for reconstruction of the bridge to be done, followed by final road paving.
It is noteworthy that the very restrictive capacity of the bridge crossing causes widespread flooding , even with the slightest of rains. From then till now, the bridge continues to deteriorate and very soon the residents may be cut off from the public should it collapse.
I am calling on the Ministry of Works as well as Mr Hayden Phillip of PURE to please pay some urgent attention to this matter . If the requisite funding is made available to the CTTRC, we would gladly take care of this item of work.
