The meeting between Dr Kublalsingh and the Prime Minister will be held at 2.30p.m at the Diplomatic Centre, St Anns.
The Office of the Prime Minister today Thursday announced that a meeting with be held between Dr Kublalsingh and the Prime Minister today at 2.30p.m at the Diplomatic Centre, St Anns.
Since Monday, Dr Kublalsingh has been on the sidewalk outside the Office of the Prime Minister in St Clair, promising to return every day until Persad-Bissessar agreed to a meeting to discuss plans for the Debe to Penal segment of the Solomon Hochoy Highway extension to Point Fortin.
On Wednesday, the Highway Re-Route Movement said it had not forgotten action taken against them in June 2012 by former National Security Minister, Jack Warner.
Kublalsingh added however that Warner is free to verbally support their cause but he will get no support from them.
Kublalsingh had been asked whether the Movement would accept Warner into its fold, should Warner, leader of the new Independent Liberal Party (ILP), change his tune on a previous stance that the Movement was hindering the country’s progress.
Warner, in his first week as National Security Minister last June, ordered the destruction of a camp set up by the protesters outside the Debe construction site of the extension of the Solomon Hochoy Highway from San Fernando to Point Fortin.
Warner also had Kublalsingh hauled off in handcuffs, accusing him of slapping a soldier during the demolition exercise, which was reported by foreign media. No charges were laid against Kublalsingh, as the claim was never substantiated. He said he’s still suffering the effects to one of his wrists to this day.
