PM Kamla extends condolences to Youth Arm leader Nicholas Morris
The United National Congress wishes to extend our heartfelt condolences to the leader of our Youth Arm, Nicholas Morris, on the sudden passing of his father, Wilfred Morris, who died yesterday (June 14, 2014) in a vehicular accident in San Fernando at age 47, in the prime of his life.
We are deeply saddened to learn of this tragic blow to the Morris family, especially coming at a time when the world is celebrating Fathers’ Day.
We emphatise with Nicholas who grew up in our party and remains one of the more dedicated members of the family. Today he needs the strengfth to deal with the tragic circumstances that now face him and we in the UNC stand with him every step of the way.
Saying farewell to a loved one – especially in circumstances such as the one that has befallen the Morris family – is difficult. Saying goodbye to a loving father on a day dedicated to honouring fathers is much more so.
But in our collective grief we take solace in the knowledge that Wilfred Morris is now in the arms of our loving Father, the Almighty who keeps watch over us and guides our lives.
We pray for Nicholas and the rest of the family to celebrate everything that Wilfred Morris representated as a father, a husband and friend. His passing leaves a void that no one can fill. But he will remain immortal through his deeds and the love he had for his family.
As we accept God’s will that we must now surrender the mortal body that provided shelter for the immortal soul, we pray for the passage of that soul to reap its just rewards in the presence of the Creator.
On behalf of the UNC and its various institutions, I extend my deepest condolences to Nicholas and his family at this sad time.
I pray that in your grief, Nicholas, you would find the strength to help the rest of the family deal with this tragedy and that you would take time to celebrate your father’s legacy.
