Paray calls on Minister Garcia to wake up
MP Paray stands in solidarity with the Parent and Teachers Association of the Rio Claro A.S.J.A Primary school.
In September 2018, operations at the school ceased, due to a bat infestation and damage to the structural integrity of the building.
Since then, the students of the standard 3,4 and 5 classes were housed at the Rio Claro Presbyterian School.
All other classes are presently conducted at the Rio Claro Masjid where there are limited facilities available.
MP Paray noted that his office has been in constant contact with the Education Facilities Company Limited (E.F.C.L), the Ministry of Education and the other relevant agencies responsible for the underlying issues attached to the school.
All that has been received thus far has been empty promises by the current administration which can only be described as uncaring, irresponsible and a total neglect for the educational development of our young minds.
MP Paray is calling on the government to place emphasis and urgency into educational institutions that are currently faced with challenges and hindering the learning process.
MP Paray further stated that this is not the first time he has raised this matter in the public domain in the interest of the students at this school.
The Rio Claro A.S.J.A is one of the most successful primary schools in the Mayaro Constituency with a success rate of over 95% in S.E.A Examinations.
This situation is truly demoralizing to the parents as well as students who have been denied a safe, secured, comfortable and productive learning environment.
