Opposition Leader severely wanting
We’re at no-confidence motion number four. The three failed before, and the result shall be no different this time around. So what does this signal about the Opposition? Are they so devoid of ideas that they need to revert to the same old failed tactics?
This does not augur well at all for a leader in waiting as it shows there is no creativity in approach. In essence, this is highly poor leadership.
Can anyone readily recall the outcomes of the previous three motions? It doesn’t readily come to mind, however, if we stretch our memory, one of the key highlights coming out of the first motion of no-confidence was Mr Keith Rowley’s apology to the Attorney General, Senator the Honourable Anand Ramlogan, SC, with regard to his accusations of the AG visiting the New York Consulate in November 2010.
I believe Mr Rowley uses these motions as a means of catharsis.
This New York Consulate incident was a very sorry one and one which leads us to wonder how can we ever trust anything that comes out of the mouth of the Leader of Opposition.
How a man can make such a damning accusation against another without checking and rechecking his facts speaks volumes of his level of irresponsibility to the people of this country. What is even more incredulous is the process to confirm this story was so unbelievably simple. It would have taken no effort to confirm whether the AG was actually at the New York Consulate.
Furthermore, the Leader of the Opposition was repeatedly told the AG was not there. So when you are unsure of a fact and yet still attempt to assassinate the character of another, with total disregard for the outcome, it speaks volume of Mr Rowley’s credentials as a leader. It shows he lacks the necessary hallmarks of a leader and is only concerned with tarnishing the reputations of individuals for personal gain.
By his actions or lack of serious actions, Mr Rowley confirmed he does not have what it takes to ever lead this country. He is not a leader in waiting, he is a leader who is severely wanting.
