MR Jack Warner and his supporters say they will not engage in mud-slinging and descend to gutter politics. Who do they think they are fooling ?
Anybody with a brain and good hearing knows that is exactly what they are doing for a month now, sometimes in a subtle, refined way and other times in a crude, cynical way. This is especially true of Mr Warner who knows how to choose his words and pretend to be the “poor, innocent one’’ as he shoots poison arrows at the UNC candidate Khadijah Ameen.
This could not have been more glaring than at the launch of the Independent Liberal Party when a man introduced as a microbiologist descended into the gutter as he launched personal attacks on Dr Glenn Ramadharsingh, Ameen, the Prime Minister and others on the platform. I saw and heard him live on TV use some derogatory words and phrases as he waded into the UNC and the huge audience lapped it up. I found it was most disgusting .
What came out of this man’s mouth, a so called doctor and scientist was not picong! It was insulting and I wonder if he realised that young people and children were listening to him. Is this the example he is setting for the younger generation? Is this what Mr Warner and his Independent Liberal Party are about ? Well then, I want no part of them!
On the other hand, I am impressed at the decent standard of Ms Ameen’s campaign as she focuses on her goals and keeps far away from the mauvais langue.
