Murders in Central Increase by over 275%
With already 27 murders for the year, which indicates a two hundred and seventy five percent increase over the corresponding period for 2015, which recorded 7 murders. Residents of Central are calling on Government to step up and do something about the escalating crime rate.
Residents are concerned about the high influx of outsiders renting properties in Central and are calling on Property owners to do a due diligence check on prospective tenants before renting their properties as there may be criminal elements migrating from hot spots.
Recently the Charlieville and Pierre Road area have been plagued with criminal activity namely housebreaking and larceny, residents are scared to venture outside after dark and live in fear everyday as they don’t know who could be the next victim.
Residents also note with deep concern the alarming remarks by Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley that his Government does not have a “switch” to turn off murders or crimes and hope that his Government gets their act together and address the crime scourge in Central and moreso the entire Country.
We are calling on the relevant Authorities to please step up and get their act together please protect your Citizens!
