Minister congratulates Sandeera Lewis on CSEC pass
The Minister of Education, Dr. Tim Gopeesingh, is extending congratulations to 10 year old Sandeera Lewis, her parents and her teachers on passing the Social Studies CSEC exam.
Dr. Gopeesingh said the Ministry of Education is very elated and will strive to bring about more young scholars in the system.
“It shows the genius we have in Trinidad and it’s multiple citizens and young ones in Trinidad and Tobago who have ability and we have to find mechanisms for bringing their knowledge and ability to the forefront at an early age and continuing to develop their education and training to probably be leaders in the world. I feel very elated.”
Dr. Gopeesingh said he has been bombarded with calls from parents whose children are excelling in certain areas.
He said he’s not sure of the circumstances under which little Sandeera sat the exams, but her efforts must be encouraged.
“If the child is capable and there is the ability for her to do the examinations, the system permits it, I don’t see any reason why she should not. But then we will have to look at a number of other factors if many more come out like that in terms of the overall management of these brilliant students.”
