Kamla: “If the Government is not working for you then they are working against you.”
Tonight we listened in vain as the Prime Minister tried to account to the nation for his government’s first year of failure and their lack of performance.
We heard excuses.
We heard blame.
We heard shameless propaganda.
We heard about hardships that we will continue to endure which it appears that the Rowley Administration cannot solve.
Keith Rowley’s address to the nation confirmed what many have been speculating for quite some time now, that his administration is not working, has stalled our economy and is ill-equipped to lead the nation forward.
There was a deafening silence on the delivery of the manifesto promises upon which Keith Rowley’s government was elected.
We did not hear any vision or plan to improve the lives of our citizens, to meaningfully diversify our economy or to boost low morale in the country.
We heard nothing about poverty reduction, providing any relief to the working poor or continuing my vision of creating 21st century health care that serves us all.
Keith Rowley was silent on the shortages of critical medicines at our health facilities, the shortage of jobs that pay a living wage and the recent mishandling of the FATCA legislation.
There was not even a mention in the recent rise in child killings this week. Instead, we heard the same complaints from Keith Rowley as we did before the election but now we have the benefit of a year to judge whether the solutions promised then would ever be delivered.
We have experienced a year of broken promises and the Prime Minister offered no hope that anything would change.
I will give an account of the Rowley Administration’s failure in everything that matters at the UNC Monday Night Forum on September 12 at the Northeastern College in Sangre Grande.
I hope you join us in person, watch us online or listen to us on the radio starting at 7:00pm.
