Gopeesingh calls Rowley attack on the Judiciary and Attorneys disgraceful
Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has lowered his already abominable standards in his reprehensible and reckless attacks on the judiciary and attorneys.
Dr. Rowley’s vicious and senseless criticisms further confirm him as lacking the capacity, temperament and aptitude to lead Trinidad and Tobago.
His onslaught on the judiciary reminds the nation of former Prime Minister Patrick Manning’s depiction of him as “a man completely of control.”
The country is well served by competent jurists, who, in the course of their relevant adjudications, may criticise the Government and other parties to litigation.
Dr. Rowley’s shocking attack on the judiciary is a dangerous precedent in national affairs and represents the undermining of yet another independent institution.
His blatant and unmerited barrage is clearly aimed at intimidating the independent judiciary.
He is guilty of attempting to politicise the administration of justice.
Dr. Rowley’s equally disgraceful condemnation of the Law Association is an effort to undercut the integrity of thousands of professional attorneys.
It is manifestly clear that the Prime Minister has become frustrated by the gross failure of his regime in all areas of governance.
In particular, the ineffectiveness in the face of the daily bloodletting has led Dr. Rowley to frantically search for scapegoats.
His obvious agenda is to verbally assault all national stakeholders who do not blindly support his inept PNM regime.
His highly objectionable public conduct is a new low in Trinidad and Tobago’s public life.
He must spare the country more of his repugnant outbursts by dissolving Parliament and calling the general election.
