Dr Rowley Should Not Go Unscathed
Dear Editor,
It is high time that Dr Rowley be held accountable for trying to mislead the country with his e-mail allegations of conspiracy and corruption against the Prime Minister, and other Government officials. On May 23, 2013 one day after the defeat of his no-confidence motion in Parliament, he disclosed what was purported to be controversial e-mail exchanges among high office holders at a public meeting.
It would seem that his legacy of speaking without thinking preceded him yet again, since making these accusations outside the walls of Parliament meant that he had no legal immunity. Now that Google Inc. has released a certified affidavit invalidating the entire emailgate scandal, I endorse the Attorney General’s decision to sue Dr Rowley for his reckless public statements. Dr Rowley needs to be taught that as a public official, you cannot make such defamatory remarks about any individual that would be injurious to their reputation.
The Opposition Leader’s actions to date point to desperation, the lack of leadership and poor judgement. Dr Rowley should not go unscathed, but rather be held accountable for his deception, and reckless attempt at bringing the Prime Minister and Attorney General into disrepute.
