AG Al Rawi trying to escape accountability again
The smoke and mirrors game played by Faris Al-Rawi at today’s Post Cabinet Press Conference borders on flat out dishonesty.
It is a matter of public record that the Attorney General sat as a member of the board of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), and in that role would of acted as a legal advisor to other members and even to Managing Director Noel Garcia.
Mr Al Rawi had a special duty to provide legal guidance to the HDC board which has been indicted by the CoE.
Mr. Al Rawi was a Director of HDC at the time of the decision to construct the housing apartments on unstable soil and an abandoned quarry.
The facts are the facts no matter how hard they try to spin the issue.
It is amazing that the Attorney General of our country, seems to not understand that this is an official report from a Commission of Enquiry, done under the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.
This is not Roodal Moonilal report… Or Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s report. This report was done under the laws that he is sworn to protect as the Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago.
It is time for the games to come to an end and for the Prime Minister to act. The removal of Noel Garcia, and Attorney General, who seems to be woefully out of his depth needs to be done with urgency.
